I will bring you to my own village called Odambang where I was born so I could introduce you to understand better about their living,culture,tradition and local crops. In short you will have a great chance to get in touch with local.

NOTE: Riding the Bike is the best way to explore this local life but if that’s not for you and prefer Tuk Tuk that totally fine. In this activity to make the tour more interesting we will encourage you to ask us more questions you have.

8am to 11am
Villagers
You will see local people and You can go to sit down at their home and talk to them. Cambodian people are very friendly to see visitors so in this You can chart with them. Along the way You will see the friendly kids shout at You with the word “Hello Hello..” they are so happy when see foreigners.
Traditional Houses
You will see local house so I will explain you how they sleep. And you will see their kitchen and learn how they cook food with your real eyes and I will explain you the way of their eating. Local eat totally different from Europeans.
Local crops and plants
You will see different crops and fruit trees. Some local fruits that you eat but not sure you ever see those trees. So it is the best way to know different names of local plants.
Local School
You will see local kids in school so you can see how they study. I will explain you about the educational system in Cambodia. Some local kids have less chance to study if their family are poor. So in this activity if you want to buy some school supplies to offer to them directly you are welcome.
Monks
Buddhism is the main religion in Cambodia so You will see monks i will explain how they live and how they become monks because some of them are very young. Sometimes you will see them walk around the village to get alms from villagers.
11am to 1pm
Making Rice Paper
Have you ever wondered how the rice paper for fresh spring rolls is made? We will visit a family rice paper business and witness how the skills that have passed down through the generations is used to make this delicate product, over a fire.
Making Rice Wine
We will visit a home-made distillery. Rice wine is the traditional alcohol for local people. It is made using traditional methods from rice and yeast, being fermented for few days in clay jars before being distilled.
Making Dried Bananas
Watch the locals slice the bananas patiently into thin pieces and dry them under the sun. These delicious snacks are a result of a family business where everyone helps in the process before selling the products to locals.
Making Fish Paste (Prohok)
The fish paste market is where we see how Cambodians make this vital ingredient. Before the fermented paste is finally ready to be eaten, it has to be stored in large pots and preserved for many months. We will also see the locals drying other kinds of fish that come in interesting colors.
Making Bamboo Sticky Rice (Kro Lan)
This healthy and well-known snack, cooked in pieces of fresh bamboo, is enjoyed by local travelers and farmers. It is often seen for sale on road side stalls. You will see how it is cooked using natural ingredients such as raw sticky rice, black beans, coconut and sugar before being cooked over a charcoal fire for several hours. Taste this delicious smelling snack yourself, warm off the charcoal.
1pm to 2pm
You will get the experience of eating our local food. We are local so just eat what we normally eat. It is the best way If you want to taste the food that you don’t find at the restaurant. It will be prepared by my wife. And you will eat it at our home in the village. After eating you can rest a bit in hammocks.

2pm to 3pm
The Bamboo Train used to be a very useful transportation for local people. They used it to transport goods, animals, rice and people after the war was ended but now it’s become a famous and fun vehicle for tourists. You will spend to ride it around an hour to go and come back from Odambang village to Osrolau village. (additional $5 per person)
3pm to 6pm
Pagoda
On the middle way of the mountain you see one pagoda with the beautiful painting on its wall. It used to use as aprison during the Khmer Rough regime.
Killing Cave
Many people were killed during the Khmer Rouge regime. A large number were marched up to the top of the mountain and plunged to their death into this cave. It is a very enlightening and somber experience.
Monkeys
You will see many monkeys jumping through the trees and playing on the ground.
The beautiful views
At the top of the mountain you will see the beautiful panoramic landscape of the Battambang region and its extensive green rice paddies.
Bat Cave and Sunset Flight
When we arrive at the bottom of the mountain, it will be time to watch the bats take flight. It is incredible to watch the long and endless line of bats as they fly out from the cave. Every evening, millions of bats fly to Tonle Sap Lake to feed on mosquitoes and insects, before returning in the morning. This is a crucial symbiotic relationship between rice farmers and bats. Lastly, we might see the sunset and finally return to your hotel.
